Lead Response Management study, Dr. James Oldroyd (then MIT Sloan), 2007 — analysis of InsideSales.com platform data across 6 companies, 15,000+ leads and 100,000+ call attempts, presented at MarketingSherpa’s B2B Summit: leads contacted within 5 minutes are 21× more likely to be qualified than those contacted after 30 minutes, and 100× more likely to be reached. Used on the roofing page. Note: the study measured B2B sales leads, not home-services calls; it is cited here for the speed-to-response effect, not as a home-services benchmark. No primary URL: the study was presented at MarketingSherpa’s 2007 B2B Summit and the sponsor’s site no longer hosts it. The provenance above is given in full so the finding can be traced. Note that this 2007 study is frequently conflated with a separate 2011 Harvard Business Review article by the same lead author, Oldroyd, McElheran and Elkington’s “The Short Life of Online Sales Leads” — a different study, with different data, that does not contain the 21× figure.

The same page reports that emergency electrical work — smoking or sparking — runs about twice the standard rate; that is the 2× after-hours multiplier in the electrical calculator.
